Walking in Dalt Vila city route
If you have read my walking in Ibiza blogposts, you have seen many nice routes on the coast and inland. Today I give a quick view and routes to Dalt Vila, a historical place in Ibiza with its stone walls, bastions, museums, restaurants, hidden alleyways and suggest some special times to go there.

When the summer heat gets too hot to handle, you need an activity or a place to go walking that’s more in the shade and has natural “cooling system”. Walking in Dalt Vila might just be it with its tunnels and getaways to beautiful museums. Read more about tips for walking in Ibiza summer weather.
Routes to go walking in Dalt Vila
You can easily get lost when walking in Dalt Vila. Not lost completely, because it still is a small area and you will find your way out soon enough, but you might miss out places if you don’t have a map or suggestions. I found it very useful to follow the paths put together by the Tourist Board of Ibiza and you can find the walking routes for Dalt Vila here. You can choose from three routes, I’d suggest the Unknown route and the route taking you all around Dalt Vila wall. And, don’t forget to be curious and make little detours to little streets that the map does not take you to.
Special moments to enjoy while walking in Dalt Vila
Now, though Dalt Vila is beautiful all year round and every time of the day, there are some moments you might like to enjoy. Namely Ibiza sunrise and Ibiza sunset.
Take your time in the old Dalt Vila – enjoy the views, take pictures, enjoy the ambiance of the history. Try to feel the different rulers and periods of time that has made the real Ibiza what it is. This is the real Ibiza.

One word of warning when walking in Dalt Vila: the stones are really smooth and can be very slippery. High heels and flat, smooth shoes are dangerous, be cautious when walking on the little streets of Dalt Vila.
